THE AUTHOR'S BIOGRAPHY
DAN'S SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO PASSAIC, MORRIS, BERGEN, AND SOME PARTS OF ESSEX COUNTIES IN NEW JERSEY.
Dan Bel-Tempo has been writing novels since he left the United States Army.
He has written seven novels with the last two being published. He has retired from the corporate world and returned to school for his college degree.
During his enlistment he was a S/Sgt playing percussion in the signal school concert band. Since then he became interested in the tenor sax and keyboard.
He is also an background and foreground actor. To his credit he has done all types of acting except for the professional stage. When he played the detective in Westside Story he felt as though his performance depicting the detective was better than the one in the film. He is a natural actor that found a lot of favor with his acting professor while at William Paterson University where he was studying, at the time.
He also has public speaking abilities and is a veteran of 65 speeches. He is quite at home when he stands before an audience. He has also made presentations, at school, where the comment was made “he sounds like the professor.” His big moment would be speaking to an audience of 2,000 persons.
The following are his topics:
Military – He is current on military topics and also borrows from his own experience as a bandsman in the United States Signal Corp.
History - He is very knowledgeable in history going back to George Washington. He concentrates on WWI and WWII and the Korean Conflict as he is a Korean War Veteran. He is also quite informed on our latest two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Music - He has been involved in music since his teens. He has also taken lessons on drums, guitar, keyboard and saxophone. He owns a alto sax. In performing with the military he played semi-classical music.
Leadership: This is a big area. Where many a corporate C.E.O. has not done taken on the role as it should be. They do not look, nor do they want to look, at all the corners of the entity. They greatly love the respect that comes their way and are not worthy of it. Their leadership goes all the way to the bottom where section managers are not very skilled, as well. Their problem is they are totally concentrated on themselves instead of keeping a really skilled subordinate team.
Since I am an author of two novels with military flavor in the genre of of Romantic Thrillers I have press clippings from an Italian press, The Newark Star Ledger and a write-up from the Guru at The New York Times.
My previous audiences were members of Toastmasters International, classes at Montclair State University, Officers Club of Picatinney Arsenal at Denville, New Jersey and an TM club at William Paterson University. I was told, from a fellow member that I was a hard act to follow. I have also received a Bronze and Silver certificate, from the Toastmasters headquarters.
I am a veteran of sixty five speeches. The fact is that I hate to sit back down after I’m done speaking. Speaking is my forte.
